Quake 3 Masterserver down? Solution!

IDSoftware switched off again their quake 3 masterserver.
Players cant see anymore servers in the quake 3 ingame browser.




As a solution, we, the BMA Team are running now our own masterserver.
Players can see again servers in the quake 3 ingame browser, that were added to our masterserver.

Good work
I added your master server with the other 3rd party master servers to the server configurations.

To other clients. If you do change your hosts file to BMA's or other master server.
Be aware that if the ID software master server comes back that you have to change the file back to it's original state if you want the default server list back.

If you don't want to change your hosts file you can also use a different server browser like qtracker where you can add different master servers. (I think)

Thanks.I will add later a status check for ID software master server to the webserverlist. And update the automatic host modifier script with an uninstaller, so whether IDs master is back, clients can easily get back to the orginal masterserver.
Btw if somebody is using hlsw, then you can add:
http://bmamod.huxxer.de/serverlist/master.huxxer.de.sslf
as webserverlist. Its updating every 5 minutes. So you will get at hlsw too the current online servers.

Nice addition. Especially that it's not always easy to find servers, that are in use by actual human beings. Btw HuXX are You the same person that runned that popular back in the days Dirty Harry server? Have some positive memories from playing on it.

Yes its online again. Lets have a look how long. My masterserver will stay online, maybe its helpful later.

Yes im the same person. Im still running some servers, but with other names. They are tagged with [IIC] & instagib.info. Hellgate server is too mine.
P.S. : [IIC] DM17 Only FFA [24/7] # instagib.info is old Dirty Harry server

Good the master server is back It's always nice to have a backup though
